ELVIS IS IN THE BUILDING

COSTELLO TO SIGN COPIES OF NEW LP AT GRIMEY'S
April 22, 2008

With a day off following his April 23 concert at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville before heading to an appearance at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, Elvis Costello will remain in Music City the following day to appear at Grimey's New & Preloved Music to autograph copies of his new album, Momofuku (Lost Highway).

MomofukuCDArtThe album, which hits stores today, is being released initially on vinyl only because, as Costello explained in a post today on his website titled Your Unreliable Correspondent Writes ..., "This is how it sounds best: with a needle in a groove, the way the Supreme Being intended it to be." He adds that "other, more portable, less scratchable, editions ... will soon become available for your convenience." The vinyl edition includes a free digital download. As for the lack of fanfare surrounding the release of his 23rd studio recording, he joked, "The absence of much advance notice or information might seem a little strange and perverse but the record was made so quickly that I didn't even tell myself about it for a couple weeks."

The legendary rocker will meet fans and sign copies of Momofuku at Grimey's from noon till 1:30 p.m. on April 24.
